The role of a Trainee Recruitment Consultant is extremely varied, the best way to describe it is a business to business sales role. You will be responsible for building relationships with your own clients and candidates, almost like running your own mini business within a business. The role is split into two areas, clients and candidates. You will be a specialist in the IT recruitment market placing highly qualified and experienced people (candidates) in the companies (clients) that require their skills.

You will be attracting and qualifying the right candidates and selling their ability and skill set to the client. On the client side, you will be actively developing your database which means cold calling companies that are or will be recruiting and selling your services in order to show them you are the best to person to fill their vacancy! Negotiation, persuasion, rapport building, quick thinking, tenacity and self motivation are all skills that are essential for this role.

The attributes that you will need for this role are key to your success. Confidence, intelligence, drive, rapport building skills, money motivation and resilience are all examples of what you need to possess. A degree is necessary, minimum grade 2.2 with 6-24 months B2B or B2C sales experience. If you have worked in brokerage, telesales, media sales, phone sales, door to door or you have worked towards targets and commission and you have exceeded your targets, apply now.
